Cleveland State University and Town Hall of
Cleveland team up for third year to bring top speakers to city
Town Hall of Cleveland, one of the nation's longest-running public
speaker forums, will partner with Cleveland State University for a
third consecutive year to bring top name speakers to Cleveland during
the 2008-2009 season. "We are very pleased to support The Town Hall
of Cleveland in its 78th year as it continues to bring notable people
to our area," said Dr. Michael Schwartz, Cleveland State President.
"This partnership reflects the University's goal to extend its reach
further into the local community."

Tim Russert Event Summary
Reflecting on the relationship between Cleveland State University and
Town Hall of Cleveland, Michael Schwartz recalled the day Chuck Hickman
and Bruce Akers entered his office with a proposal for a partnership.
He knew within an eighth of a second that a wonderful opportunity was
being offered to the faculty, staff and students of his fine institution.
He considers Cleveland State a serious, dedicated, committed partner
to help make Cleveland a great city. Dean Geoffrey S. Mearns of the Cleveland-Marshall
College of Law introduced Tim Russert.

Town Hall seeking a diverse audience
Town Hall of Cleveland, the nation's longest-running lecture series,
has brought speakers from ex-presidents and former prime ministers to
Ralph Nader and chimp researcher Jane Goodall to its lectern. Crisis
icon and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani will kick off the season
Sept. 30.
