The Student ProgramThe Student Program provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors from Northeast Ohio to attend Town Hall of Cleveland lectures, enhancing their knowledge of the sciences, history, economics, current events and the humanities. The fund is supported by foundation grants and subscriber donations. Town Hall appreciates donations of any amount to The Student Program. Gifts of $500 or more can be designated for the donor's school of choice. During the 2008-2009 season, students from 150 high schools in seven northeastern Ohio counties, as well as homeschooled students, were invited to the Town Hall series, and over 6,200 students participated participated in the lectures and distance learning programs. This season, six speakers: Juan Williams, George Hawkins, William Sahlman, Capitol Steps, Lisa Dennison and David Gergen will participate in the Distance Learning Programs at the WVIZ Idea Center. The Town Hall Youth Council (23 students from Lorain County) moderate the programs and take questions from the live audience and the schools that are connected. Last season, Town Hall had a record high school participation of 27 schools for the "Three Doctors," and 225 students and teachers in the live audience.
