The Student ProgramThe Student Program provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors from Northeast Ohio to attend Town Hall of Cleveland lectures, enhancing their knowledge of the sciences, history, economics, current events and the humanities. The fund is supported by foundation grants and subscriber donations. Town Hall appreciates donations of any amount to The Student Program. Gifts of $500 or more can be designated for the donor's school of choice. For the 2010-2011 Season, 5,000 students from 150 high schools in seven northeastern Ohio counties, as well as homeschooled students, were invited to the Town Hall series and participated in the lectures and distance learning programs. This season, seven speakers will participate in the Distance Learning: Ambassador John Bolton, Daniel Esty, David Pogue, Capitol Steps, Aaron Miller, Larry Elder, and Erskine Bowles. The Town Hall Youth Council (students from Lorain County schools) and other schools including Kenston High School will moderate the programs and take questions from the live audience and the schools that are connected. Last season, 85 schools participated in the Ditstance Learning program. Please consider a donation to the Student Scholarship Fund for schools to continue to bring students at no cost. For information, please call us at 216.241.1919 or e-mail admin@townhallseries.org. |
